Terms and Conditions for Free Tour Europe

The Best Free Walking Tours in Europe

Welcome to Free Tour Europe. By booking and participating in any of our tours, you agree to the following terms and conditions. We recommend you read them carefully before making your reservation.

1. Tour Types and Bookings

1.1. Free Tours (Pay-What-You-Want Tours)

Our Free Tours operate on a regular schedule (pre-established days, times, and meeting points) and are designed for individual travelers or small groups of friends and family (up to 7 participants). These are “pay-what-you-want” tours, meaning they don’t have a fixed price and no upfront payment is required.

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend reserving your spot. Reservations allow us to better manage group sizes and, if necessary, assign additional guides to keep groups smaller, ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Please arrive at the meeting point approximately 10 minutes before the tour’s start time.

1.2. Paid Tours (Fixed-Price Tours)

Paid Tours are regular tours with a set price.

1.2.1. Bookings and Confirmation

We recommend booking your spot in advance, as this is the only way to guarantee it. Only if spaces are still available at the tour’s start time will those arriving without a reservation be able to join.

You’ll receive an automatic booking confirmation via email. If you don’t receive it, please check your spam or junk folder first. If you still can’t find it, contact us at [email protected], as your request might not have been processed correctly.

1.2.2. Identification and Payments

You can present your booking confirmation either printed or on your smartphone or tablet. Always remember to bring your ID or a valid identification document with you. We’ll verify your reservation before the tour begins.

You can pay for your tour online with a credit card or in cash minutes before the tour.

1.2.3. Punctuality and Fares

You must be at the tour meeting point at least 10 minutes before the start time. After this time, we reserve the right to assign your reserved spot to another tourist. Our priority is to ensure fair treatment for all participants and guarantee the punctual start of the tour.

If a reduced fare applies (e.g., for students), and you cannot prove your eligibility or if you are over 18 and traveling without a legal guardian, you may be asked to pay the difference between the reduced and regular fare.

1.3. Private Tours

For travelers whose needs don’t align with our regular offerings, we can organize a Private Tour. On a private tour, you and your group can set the topics, start time, and starting point that best suit your preferences.

1.3.1. Bookings and Confirmation

If you book a private tour online, you’ll receive an automatic confirmation via email. If you don’t receive it, please check your spam or junk folder first. If you still can’t find it, contact us at [email protected], as your request might not have been processed correctly.

1.3.2. Identification and Participant Limits

You must show your booking confirmation printed or via your mobile phone or tablet.

We limit the number of participants to a maximum of 35 people per guide, unless otherwise stated. Groups of more than 35 people will need to book additional guides.

1.3.3. Included and Excluded Services

Your booking includes the private guide service. Additional costs not specified in the booking confirmation (such as museum entrance fees, public transport, meals, etc.) are not included.

2. Payments and Cancellations

2.1. Online Payments

Online payments are processed through PayPal. You can complete the transaction using your PayPal account or your credit or debit card. In case of refunds, you’ll receive the refunded amount in your PayPal account or credit card within 14 days of the refund approval.

2.2. Cancellation Policy

You can cancel your tour booking at any time before its scheduled start. To do so, you must contact us at [email protected].

  • Free Cancellations: Cancellations made up to 48 hours before the tour are free of charge, and the full amount will be refunded.
  • Partial Refund: A 50% refund will be issued for cancellations made between 48 and 12 hours before a private tour.
  • No Refund: For cancellations received less than 12 hours in advance or for “no-shows” at the tour’s start, the tour amount will not be refunded.

2.3. Delays and No-Shows

We organize private and group tours for a specific time period.

  • If your group arrives more than 10 minutes late, the guide’s waiting time will be deducted from the total agreed tour time.
  • If you anticipate having trouble arriving on time, please contact us at [email protected] or the tour guide’s contact number (if provided to you).
  • If 15 minutes have passed since the agreed time and we haven’t received any communication regarding the group’s situation, the group will be considered a “no-show,” and the tour will be canceled without the right to a refund.

2.4. Cancellations by Free Tour Europe

We make every effort to ensure tours run as scheduled. However, in exceptional cases where a tour is canceled without prior notification by Free Tour Europe or one of our guides, we will proceed with:

  • A refund of the amount paid for the tour.
  • The issuance of a voucher for the value of the canceled tour to purchase another tour, as compensation for any inconvenience caused. This voucher cannot be used for any other purpose and is not redeemable for cash.

2.5. Refunds

No refunds are issued unless the tour cancellation was due to our fault. In such a case, we will refund the total amount paid by the customer. You will receive this refund in your PayPal account or credit card within 14 days.


3. Participation Rules and Liability

3.1. Tour Behavior

We ask all participants to remain with their group and follow the guide’s instructions throughout the tour. Leaving the group or interrupting the tour does not entitle you to a refund.

3.2. Refusal of Participation

Participation in tours organized by Free Tour Europe is entirely voluntary. Our guides, as well as the company, reserve the right to refuse participation to anyone for any reason and at any time (e.g., being under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, displaying offensive or rude behavior, etc.).

3.3. Force Majeure Situations

Free Tour Europe is not responsible if a tour must be canceled due to force majeure (such as extreme weather conditions, heavy storms, blizzards, natural disasters, unforeseen government events, etc.).

3.4. Risks and Limitation of Liability

We try to keep risks to a minimum when organizing our tours. However, there are circumstances beyond our control. Therefore, Free Tour Europe, its partners, and employees assume no civil liability for injuries, losses, damages, or inconveniences suffered by any person while using its services, nor to their property, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Free Tour Europe.

3.5. Minor Participants

All participants under 18 years of age on one of our Free Tour Europe tours must be accompanied by an adult, who must remain with the group until the end of the tour.

Travelers between 7 and 15 years old will receive a 50% discount on the guide service for our Paid Tours. They will likely need to cover other associated tour costs, such as public transport tickets, museum entrance fees, meals, etc.

Participants under 18 years of age are not permitted to participate in Beer Tours or consume alcohol on food tours.

3.6. Drinking and Smoking

Consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking is strictly prohibited during all our Free Tour Europe tours, unless the specific tour (such as a wine or beer tasting tour) explicitly allows it and only for participants of legal drinking age.


4. Miscellaneous

4.1. Lost and Found

We are not responsible for items left behind on buses, boats, or places visited during our tours.

4.2. Tour Changes

Free Tour Europe reserves the right to make modifications to scheduled tours due to unexpected changes in the opening hours of visited sites, traffic restrictions, special events, or any other circumstances beyond our control that may affect the route. We will make every effort to notify you of these changes in advance if possible.
